I was fortunate and pleased working on this project. IN C is an exercise in democracy - as Sasha Waltz describes in her piece. What happens when the democracy exercise is performed on stage by dancers of different physical, mental, or cultural experiences? This question became the inspiration to create IN C - Tbilisi, the inclusive version of the original piece, where disabled and non-disabled dancers from Tbilisi and Berlin would perform together on the stage.

It was astonishing to watch them rehearse the dance and gain confidence on a daily basis. And still on the day of the premiere stagefright set in and I worried alongside them. However, I was proved wrong within minutes as I watched them support each other through unknown fears.

There is nothing they can’t do.
